Compare/Data platforms

They are right that this is a context problem. The precondition is where it stalls.

Your warehouse or lakehouse vendor has reached the same conclusion we have: an agent is only as good as the context it is given, and that context has to be governed.

Stated fairly

What a data platform is genuinely better at.

This is not a comparison we would pick if the work sat entirely inside the warehouse.

Where they are stronger

  • Query performance and scale on data that already lives with them, which is not close
  • A mature governance and lineage story for exactly that data
  • Already bought, already reviewed by your security team, already in the budget
  • Deep tooling for analysts, notebooks, dashboards and the whole reporting surface
  • If your critical workflow really is warehouse-shaped, using what you have is the right call

Where it leaves you

  • The systems that hold the operational truth are usually the ones that will never move: the ERP, the ticketing system, the twenty year old ledger, the internal API with no owner
  • A context layer scoped to one platform can only ground answers about the part of the business that migrated
  • Nothing in the warehouse can act. Writing back to a CRM or a campaign is a different problem with a different blast radius
  • The people who hold the operating knowledge are not the people who write SQL, and the gap between them is where the work actually stops
  • A migration is quoted as the path to AI, and by the time it lands the ground has moved

Their answer needs the data inside first. That precondition is the reason you have not solved this already.

we go to the systems instead, and query them at the moment the question is asked

The mechanical difference

What SynOS holds is the meaning, not the rows.

Profiling reads your schemas, samples and documents and keeps the statistics, the column roles and the bindings: which table is authoritative for revenue, what a status field means, which join reaches the customer.

How profiling works, and how it stays current →

The likely outcome

You keep the warehouse. It becomes one connected system among several.

Almost nobody who deploys this turns off a data platform, and we would advise against it.

If a migration is already underway, this is compatible with it rather than a replacement for it.

What connects, and how →

Test it on the system that will never move.

The fastest way to settle this is to pick the operational system your migration keeps deferring, and see what a profile makes of it.
