Where it leaves you
- They index what was written. The state of the business lives in the ledger, the ticket queue and the ERP, and that state changes hourly
- They assume ingestion. Content is copied in, which is fine for documents and unavailable for the systems that matter most
- A retrieved passage is not a bound metric. Knowing which column revenue actually means, with invariants on it, is a different piece of work
- They retrieve and summarise. There is no governed tool layer, no sandbox, no deploy path, and no way for an answer to become an action
- What accumulates is search behaviour rather than corrections from people doing the work
